When you are not feeling well, there is no place like home. That's why the MedStar Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) assists patients who are disabled or recovering from an illness, injury or surgical procedure in the comfort of their own homes. Our home health care team travels more than two million miles per year to make a positive difference in people's lives. We offer a full range of home health care services to ensure our patients receive the care they need, when and where they need it.

Home health care services include:

Specialized nursing, rehabilitation and education programs:

We care for the whole person by:

  • Working with each patient's physician to provide appropriate, patient-focused, in-home healthcare services
  • Developing an individual plan of care to meet each person's unique needs
  • Providing in-home monitoring and screening services that offer immediate results. This ensures that the most appropriate care is being provided
  • Education on how to manage their own health conditions
  • Support in achieving a level of independence
  • Preparation for life after discharge with additional healthcare resources and information

To be eligible for home care you must:

  • Have a medical condition that requires the skill of a licensed professional on an intermittent, part-time basis
  • Be under the continuous care of a physician who will work with an home health care service provider
  • Be homebound as required by Medicare and some insurance policies

Payment Options:

Payment options for MedStar VNA include Medicare, Medicaid, most health insurers or credit card.
